How to Remove Chroma Key from an Image
Chroma keying is the process of removing a specific color from an image to make it transparent. This technique is widely used in photography and video production to swap backgrounds.
- 1 Upload: Drag and drop your green screen or blue screen images.
- 2 Pick Color: Use the color picker or click the preview to select the background color.
- 3 Adjust: Move the threshold slider (usually 10-30%) until the background disappears.
- 4 Clean Edges: Enable edge cleaning to remove remaining color fringes.
Pro Tips
- Lighting Matters: Chroma key works best on images with even lighting and no shadows on the background.
- Threshold: Start at 25% and adjust slowly. Too high will make the subject semi-transparent.
- Edge Cleaning: Use this to remove the thin green/blue line often found around hair or clothing.
- B&W Preview: Use this mode to spot missed pixels or 'holes' in your subject that shouldn't be transparent.
